transom locker lock?

Has anyone come up with a neat method of locking their transom locker when away from the boat? I've never had any trouble with things "going for a walk", but I'd rest easier if I knew anchors, fenders, grill and the like were somewhat protected from light fingers.

Of course, I realize that locks are for honest people. And, keep at least one member of this forum gainfully employed. (Right, Todd?)

Cheers,

Bill

I lean my dink up against the rear of the boatand tie it to the cleats, pretty much covers everything up even the transom door. That being said, I hope no one steals my dink!!!

I have "slam latches" that also lock. I don't worry too much at my home marina, but do lock them when we are docked away from home.

check one model out here: http://www.gemlux.com/products/3154.jpg

I had something similar to that on my Chaparral, didn't take much more than a screwdriver to open those. They also would lock halfway from bouncing around and it was a real PIA when you needed to get in there in a hurry.

I know exactly how you feel about these.

The ones I pictured are more secure than the standard "luggage key" type. I am planning to replace two older locks with these.
