The fold out rear seat thats mounted near/on transom is shot :(
Its has 2 little fold out legs and the wife busted one off last night, but it seems that the wood holding that seat on is no good. If anyone repaired these,Im wondering what kind of job im looking at here? It apears that its just wood mounted somewhere and it screwed in,then the wood part where the seat is actually on with the sliding brackets screws down into a peice inside and I can feel the screws just pulled out from the wood,Is it pretty easy to just go remove old wood and replace?
Any info before I go start removing stuff would be helpful,Thanks!

You might be able to through bolt the plastic holders that hold the leg on. I guess it depends on how bad the wood is. You might be able to move the legs over an inch or two where the wood is in better shape.

Aside from that it's just a cushion on a piece of wood with legs held to the transom with a piano hinge.

Im talking about the wood behind and under the bench seat,Is that stuff just screwed to fiberglass?

OK,I couldnt take it anymore,so I went up and took it out. It was Nasty! Rotted to the max with mold!
So now the old stuff is out can anyone recommend what to use or how to build the new seat box?
As you see in the pic its made of some plywood, not sure what type but what ever it was it just didnt hold up over the years.
It was also made pretty much square but the sides are like triagle cut "Kind of"
But I was just thinking of getting some treated solid 2x4's and make the new box and not make it solid inside but leave a gap so water can drain,The old box was like a flower box and when water got in it just sat with nowhere to go.
Does this sound like it would work ok? If not im open to suggestions.

Can you take a pic of where that thing goes on the boat? I can't seem to recall seeing anything that looks like that on my '89 300 DA.

I will try tomorrow, the boats up at the dock.
But this flower box as I like to call it is attatched to a lip of fiberglass alost "L" shaped. This box is fastened at the bottom all the way across and along the back side of the box to the L shaped fiberglass.
Then a flat board with a long hinge is attatched to the flower box,This board has the sliding track which holds the seat and allows you to fold this board up or down and slide out the seat cushion.
Im just wondering if anyone see's a problem not making the shape of the box pictured,I was just going to make it square, and not use plywood. The plywood they used,im not sure if it was marine grade,or treated, untreated,I dont know but it didnt work.
Along the back of the box they secured the top board with the sliding tracks, but it goes in on the sides of the plywood through the layers and kind of split it,rather then go on the flat surface liek you should with plywood.
So Im guessing that was a big problem right there, and im going to use solid treated wood, that should hold up to moisture right?
Anyone see any problems before I continue?

I put pontoon lounge seats in mine. Well padded, storage under and if you get two, they go in an L.
