Cruising last weekend, engine alarm came on, all gauges were fine, shut it down, restarted, and continued, running at 3200 rpm, occasional surges in rpm, on starboard engine. Finally I shut it down, and got home on single engine. Once docked, shift on that engine was locked too. My mechanic came down, and diagnosed. Velvet Drive, rebuild about 2500, new one 3k. Any thoughts? Have about 700 hours on these engines.
