I have 8.1's with smart craft. My smartcraft display is telling me that my port transmision water preasure is the fault of my alarm. I checked the fluid level and between lines to the high side. Next I checked sea strainers, and sytematicaly pulled off all hoses and just turned the enines over to verify flow. then I compared with starboard. All appears to be well. The smart craft display is saying port transmission water preasure at Idle is 2.4. in comparison the starboard is 2.8. Seeing good flow I left dock and once I gave throttle the alarm went away. I changed both impellers ( They looked o.k. ) and still have 2.4 port and 2.8 starboard at idle. I did notice some scoring on the inside of both water pump housings. Not enough for me to think it is impending flow. My guess is the water lines for the port are longer than the starboard and that might be the difference. Once the alarn goes away underway it does not happen any more even If I stop for 3-4 hours it will not come back on. It only happens when completely cold. Our water temp has been in the mid 50's lately. My next step was to buy two new water pumps. before I proceed I thought I would run this past any one with suggestions.
