I'm replacing my transducer, the old one didn't work and the housing had a leak into the bilge, so today I removed the old transducer housing and I'm surprised to see that the hole is about 2 1/4" quite big for the 2" housing sleeve, it looks to be the factory hole and the replacement is a factory replacement, the old housing was jammed with sealant

is this normal? thoughts?

TIA

update... I had a fiberglass guy look at it, he suggests using expoxy to set the housing, and that's what we're going to do.
