Twin MAG 350's
I'd like to upgrade the gps to a garmin 7407xsv on my boat which has twin mag 350's. Fresh water lake mostly < 110' deep. Can the transducer go near center bottom of transom next to drain plug or should I find a thru hull? Not sure what the pitch is and if one ducer is good enough for through hull side/downvu. Boat has axius so motors can move independently if that matters to a transom mount. Most of the time they probably are in sync. Any advice?

thanks

Does anyone mount a transducer on transom between twin motors? I think Garmin suggested that to me when I was talking to them.

This was really to get ready for spring and we're almost there. Any advice on using transom mount with my boat? To make matters worse simrad came out with a nice higher rez MFD that will fit but the totalscan transducer is a crazy 10" long. Maybe I should just go with in-hull. More money and no structurescan though.

I just picked up the Simrad g09 with that crazy 10" transducer. It is a beast! I will be mounting it between the lower units to the starboard side flush with the hull.

Cool! So on bottom of boat hull? I hadn't considered that. I guess that would be a good idea. I don't trailer my boat it's drydocked for the winter with a lift trailer. Please take a pic of the ducer mounted if you can. PM me if you can't post it and I'll give you my email.

thanks
Steve

5845.jpg5841.jpgI was told between the units there would be to much turbulence to get good readings all the time. My concern where it ended up was originally the trim tab but it does make sense rather than two double prop units on each side. She looks bigger on the helm than in my hands.
