I have a 2004 Sea ray 390 DA. It has the Sea Ray Navigator plotter. My transducer has stopped working for depth.
Any one know the model number of the transducer? Any ideas what to check to try get it going?

Hi Buddymac, I had a similar problem last season. My transducer was an Airmar. Yours is probably an Airmar as well. If you trace the wire from the transducer you should find a label on the wire with the model number listed. Then visit Airmar's website to find a compatible replacement. How do you normally read your depth? Do you have vessel view on board? If you have vessel view you may want to try updating the software before shelling out for a new transducer. The software update solved the problem for me. Also check your batteries to see what condition they're in.
Good luck!

I cannot see much of the wire lead as it goes into the bulkhead shortly after leaving the transducer. It is possible (but not likely) that anti-fouling paint got on the transducer, would this impact the reading? The wire lead has AIRMAR C189-02 , C1225 on it. I also checked the wire going into the SR Navigator unit and all is ok.
Any ideas on the Model of the Transducer. The parts book is not available for an 2004, but is there for the 2005 (however the plotter is the newer SRNII), Sea Ray Transducer part #1757382

I pulled the transducer out and replaced with the plug. Barely any water came in (I was expecting the worst). No paint on it, so .... something is broke, any help on this issue would be appreciated. I have Smart view but it runs through the SR Navigator. Everything on the plotter is working fine.

Good to hear, boating without a depth finder can be nerve racking at times.
