tranny failure

sailing today 1500revs tranny disengages and will not engage in forward or reverse anyone any idea of problem thanks

On a serious note, did you check the fluid level?

Did you check the cable attachment to the transmission? Could be disconnected (??)

Hi All fluid good condition clean and linkage is ok boat is a 1989 340da v drives could it be fluid pump thanks for replys

Hi All thanks for replys found problem prop shaft went out of alignment and snapped need new one Mick.

Do a search on "prop shaft" and you'll find a lot of people with the similar problem. What year is your boat? I hope its under warranty because its not cheap to fix...

Prop shaft went out of alignment from the engine or visa versa?

presume i hit a rock the stringer that holdss the shaft was bent new one is made and should fit tommorow i am based in Ireland so its easier to machine shaft Mick
