Has any one trailer their boat into Baja Mexico this year? Looking for information on 10 year permit required, any boarder crossing problems, boarder crossing procedure, how they made out bringing the boat back to USA and if any one asked them for the permit in Mexico. Have 21 foot boat we are thinking of taking to Mexico this winter.

I would not take anything into Mexico including myself. Those stories of drug cartels and the things that they do are real.

I remember watching a 60 minutes or similar show about a family that portrayed a family of 4 who did the same thing with a group of people. They got seperated on the return trip for reasons I can't remember. Well, that family was robbed and beaten at gunpoint by the POLICE!!! They had to hoof it to a local village and seek help from the residents. A woman with a relative that was a non-corrupt policeman, drove them back to the border. They had some issues getting back without their passports but, ultimately returned home.
After seeing that I decided as beautiful as some parts of Mexico may be, I won't be seeing them

I have taken many surf trips to Baja in the 80's and 90's. Not anymore. I live 40 miles from the Mex border and I wouldn't consider going down there with a surfboard, much less a boat. The news reports are correct. It is dangerous down there.

Hard to believe that there is not a place in the U.S. that a safe winter could not be spend.
