I just purchased a 2011 4.3L 185 sport with a Sea Ray shorelander trailer. The owner said it has electric brakes but wasn't 100% sure. I thought these trailers have surge brakes? I doesn't make sense with electric and water, so who's right?

There is an electrical connection for the reverse solonoid which deactivates the brakes when the vehicle is in reverse. The brakes themselves are hydraulic surge brakes.
