I picked up my boat today (220 Sundeck) and noticed the trailer didn't have those white poles sticking up on the rear both sides of the trailer. I assume this is to center the boat:huh:. Sorry for a silly question but me being new to boating what prupose do they serve? Is it a trailering thing or do they help get the boat back on the trailer from the water.

I don't have them but yes help guide you on to trailer. Also, if you get the ones with lights it makes trailering after dusk easy.

I added them to my trailer over the winter. They do help in getting on the trailer because they are so easy to see when the trailer is in the water and it's getting dark. But the main reason I got them was to make it easier for my wife to see the trailer when she backs it down the ramp. She does a great job, but the guide posts make it easier to see the trailer when the boat is not there.

They are nice to have and help with centering the boat on the trailer in murky waters or at night. The benefit with the wind is also huge as far as helping stop that last minute drifting.
