Looking to purchase a 240 sundeck (used) and previous owner did not have trailer. 2 options are wesco or ez loader. Any suggestions or feedback? Info to help me make the best decision? About $200 difference in price.

Thanks

I have an ex loader. What ever you make sure the weight capacity is over the weight of the boat fuel and gear. Do not skimp on the trailer

Are you looking for new or used? There are lots of good used trailers available if you know what you are looking for. I just picked up one for a 260DA and probably saved at least 1500 vs new. Most important is the weight load rating - pay close attention. In some case they will rate it as gross load which also includes the weight of the trailer. The one I just picked up was rated 9800lbs but I confirmed with the manufacturer that the carrying capacity was more like 8500lbs.

I had a Venture with my last boat, wish I would have kept it, but the current boat came with one and I rack store so there is really no need to have on at all, other than once in a while pull it somewhere. The aluminum Venture costs more, but you can beat it for weight and looks. So depending on how much you'll tow and what you can afford should determine what you'll need. Here is the link...good luck.

a bunk trailer will be easier to load and will probably have a lower center of gravity over a roller trailer. I had an eazy loader for my Stingray and had some problems with it compared to the Shorelanders that came with the Sea Ray's I've owned.

I agree with the bunks, my last two trailers were bunks and they are/were great - drive the boat right up on them. The one I had previous to those had rollers. Concept was great but once the rollers wore and did not roll it was not fun and since they tend to be higher than bunks I was always fighting with them. The rollers are fairly easy to change out - but based on the total number needing replacing it can get expensive. So I went with bunks again for the trailer I just picked up. Check out ebay and craigslist there are a lot both new and used out there.
