Have a buyer for my Searay 270 and he wants to know what trailer can handle it? Does the length of the trailer matter, the weight it can handle, or what??

You don't say which model 270 you have, but I would assume you are at least in the 7-8000lb area.

At a minimum, He’s going to need a good tandem axle trailer, 3”x5” beams, 15” wheels, brakes, etc.

This is something he should research on his own, based in the actual weight of the boat.

He should also know the length from the bow eye to transom, so a trailer of appropriate length can be used.

Your 270 looks very similar to my 01 280 in size.

I have a triple axle, 15000 GVWR trailer for mine that pulls like a dream. It feels balanced with a reasonable tongue weight.

not sure I would feel comfortable with a tandem axle with that much bulk, but a good quality tandem with at least a 10000 GVWR and disk brakes may be okay.

I would follow the earlier recommendation and just provide the specs of the boat and tell him to consult with a boat trailer supplier.

you getting out of boating or just changing boats? (I don’t like to say “upgrading” because my best boats have been older, smaller boats.)
