I was just informed that good friends of ours were involved in a weather related crash on the Ohio turnpike earlier today returning back to Michigan. In the crash, the wife, who is a mother of a 4yr old, 2 yr old and is 8 months pregnant was killed, along with the unborn baby. She was 32 years old. Her husband is in the hospital with critical injuries. Although inactive for a couple years, he is a member of this forum and was very active for a long time before selling his boat, so I'm going to leave names out for privacy sake. She was one of the nicest and most genuine people I ever had the pleasure of knowing, and she was his rock. I deal with death and loss everyday but this one really has rocked me and I still can't believe it's true as I type this. Just please remember life is short. Make the best of every day; you never know when it's your last.

So sorry to hear that Shaun, that's terrible and so young too. Condolences to family and friends. Like you say, make each day count. As my late mother was always saying, "in the midst of life, we are in death", you just never know. Prayers for your friend that he may find the strength to go on for his children and that his late wife and child RIP. Just so very, very sad.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. It is hard to get much more tragic than that. The loss of a mother and wife is unfathomable, particularly so suddenly. The family, friends are in our prayers.

Very sad....life is precious.

So sorry Shaun, prayers for the family.Hope for quick recovery for the father so he can be with his children. The weather has been bad,i saw 6 rollovers in 60 miles yesterday morning and one in the evening, thankfully most were ok buffered by the snow, unfortunatly the last one didnt look to promising.

Thanks for the kind words. I've received pictures of their truck and it's sickening to see what they went through and amazing that anyone survived. Apparently they drove under a semi who jackknifed right in front of them and then were driven in further by another semi that rear ended them.

I had spoke with him several times on this forum and when I moved my boat to a different slip in Saugatuck back in 2009, they ended up being our slip neighbor! He would do anything for anyone and was a great mechanic, always lending a hand on people's boats. His wife was his rock and always kept him grounded. The thought of him without her is almost impossible to conceive. It's going to be a very rough road for all involved so your continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Shaun, prayers for peace that passes understanding for the family, and to you as well my friend.
