Tragedy for young boaters

Tragedy on Watts Bar lake in Tennessee. Some early twenties kids were drinking and partying Friday night on a 19 ft runabout...a young man fell overboard and was not recovered. We saw it on local news and we know them and their famillies. The driver, 23, is in jail for BUI and facing more charges. Both were outstanding kids from very fine families. One's mom and dad teach safe boating classes. A heart breaking tragedy for those families.

Everyone with young adults in their families needs to have them read and know about this...even if it for a moment forces them to think about the consequences.

Kids don't think about consequences like "drinking and driving (or boating) can result in a fatality. It's not part of their world view. Parental controls kind of slip away when kids hit their 20s. Either you programmed them right from the start or you didn't. Some luck involved there too, I guess.
