I am purchasing a property on a private lake where the covenants limit the boat size to 20 feet. My 215 EC is 18 inches over the limit, and there are no exceptions. I need to sell the 215 EC and buy a smaller boat, but perhaps there is someone with just what I need looking for a larger boat.

My boat is in excellent condition, and runs like new. The gell coat shines like a mirror, the interior has no rips, and the snap-in carpet is good for at least another couple of years. Bimini and full canvas. The cabin is spotlessly clean and mildew-free. There are no leaks of any type. The engine has low hours and compression is spot-on. The outdrive operates like new. About the only thing not in perfect repair is the button on the throttle that dis-engages the outdrive. I have found it just as easy to take one of the pins from the bimini to release the outdrive, and regardless, the new button is a minor item.

A similar-condition boat would be an attractive trade, and this could be a whale of a deal for someone who wants a bigger boat but cannot unload the old boat in this market.

Thanks

Just chainsaw the first 18 inches off the bow. It never touches the water and will give you an easy step right into the bow! A little starboard and move the lights and you're good to go!

Change the decals.............cheaper than buying a new boat for 18".
Good idea - its worked for sea ray in reverse for years now....I think my boat is already up to a 330 - on the serious side though, you just know there is some bastard neighbor that has nothin better to do than go around with a tape measure.........now where's that guns on board thread?

Interesting idea. That would stop the complaints about poor ventilation in the cuddy cabin. Heavy chop would be more of an adventure.

Seriously, still hoping for a trade, but will list the boat for sale if nobody steps up.
