I have a 2009 48’ Sundancer with two KVH TracVision TV receivers, one in the main salon and one in the forward bedroom, all original equipment from SeaRay. Currently all TV’s run on the same channel as the main salon TV and I do have two separate digital TV cards for each box. So my question is why am I unable to receive separate channels on the forward bedroom TV since I have another TracVision satellite box installed in the forward bedroom?

Thank you,
JB

Look for an AB switch that might switch the tv's on off the same connection. Sometimes this is used because of a DVD player only being in one location so an AB switch is needed to combine the signals.

If no switch then it could because someone did not wire the boat right or it was altered in some way. If you take a separate connection from each receiver and try it on a tv you should be able to verify weather or not your receivers are working. then just trouble shoot the connection hook up.

Check which tuner station each TV is on. On my boat the one receiver feeds TV channel 3 and the other TV channel 14. I can watch either Sat receiver on any TV just by changing to either of those channels. Not sure if that is a typical set up though.

Yep, forgot about that one. Good call.
I set mine up that way, except chan 3 & 4.

Hi guys, thank you for your quick response and input to my question. I work very close to my marina so at lunch time I ran down and fired up the TV system, I tried different channels as suggested and then tried different inputs and found that input 1 allowed me to access the channel guide so that was a huge step. However once a channel was selected it gave me a blank screen and at the bottom of the screen it informed me to call direct TV with an error code.

After spending almost an hour on the phone with a representative she finally switched me over to the access card dept and within two minutes he informed me that the card was never activated and they need to send me a new card. So I should have the new card in a few days and hopefully I will be up and running. Will post once completed.

Thank you again for the help.

I received the new access card and that did the trick, now have the ability to watch different channels on 2 of the 4 TV's (Main salon and forward bedroom). Anyone doing anything different to be able to watch all TV's independently? Is this even possible with a Trac 3 system?

You can do that with Dish receivers but not DirectTV.
