First time poster guys... I hope I do this right.

2005 Sundancer 320 with T-350 Mags... 35hrs... just got it... and LOVE IT.

Ran great first times out then the other day the SmartCraft system is flashing "FAULT-SENSOR" and "FAULT-TPS" in the port side tach guage. The engine seems to run fine, I havent noticed anything performance related.

I've read that the Throttle Position Switch (TPS) is one of the most common electrical devices to fail, second to an o2 sensor.... so 3 questions:
1. Is SmartCraft talking about the Throttle Position Sensor or does TPS stand for something else? The manual doesnt say... just says call dealer.
1. A new TPS is a $50 part, should I just replace it?
2. If so, is it difficult or as easy as unscrewing the one and popping in the new one?

Any comments would be helpful and appreciated,
Thanks,
Jerry

Call the service department at the local SeaRay dealership and ask what it means and how much..---then you can decide to buy the part yourself and replace it if you think you can...or have the dealership do it.

Please post what they tell you and how much etc.

Thanks

Thanks.... I did just that.
At my marina they have a "mercruiser certified" guy that came out and hooked the laptop up to it. The two faults that the SmartCraft picked up was low fluid level on the drive gear units and an over-rev warning that I caused by starting the boat incorrectly.

I thought it was funny how the boat basically "told on" me. I was giving the boat throttle when starting it becasue thats how I used to start my old boat (that didnt have electronic ignition). So now I know, and wont do it again.

Both items were fixed for an hours worth of his time..$95.

Thanks

Yes, no throttle when you start these baby's...Cheap lesson...
Enjoy the boat!!

I will thanks :) My last boat was a 1988 Bayliner 26'... Im still getting getting used to the idea of what a great boat the 320 is. I actually bought it down your way in Palm Beach and had it shipped up, great buy.

that's great. Do you have the V-Drives or I/O's ? It is a great boat and the more you use it and get comfortable with it the more you will enjoy it!
