Okay. I diched my Yukon Denali XL as the gas was killing me using it for commuting (duh!) and I bought a small commuting car (Kia Soul - LOVE it!).
Since we needed a tow vehicle to move the boat a dozen times a year, we traded my wife's Sienna in, and since she had to have the tow vehicle, I let her pick it out. We ended up with a 2008 Land Rover LR3. :smt038 It can pull 7700 lbs., but the only receiver hitch available is their OEM hitch and it sits low to the ground - really low.
I need to pull my boat from the water for a few days and I went looking for a 2" ball mount today and need the ball to "rise" instead of "drop", and I did not see any that increased height, only decreased.
Since I just bought the boat last December, I am still trying to become more educated in towing, so that's why I ask, can I buy a ball mount that is a "drop" and flip it upside down to increase the height? I don't know if the weight bearing down on the opposite side of the ball mount will weaken it or if it will be okay.
Thanks in advance for making me smarter!
