Towing a 225 WE?

I want to take my 225 Weekender down to Tampa in the next few weeks, sister in law's place, but I am not sure I trust my current vehicle to pull the boat for any distance. When I have pulled the boat, I have used my 99 Ford Explorer Limited, 2 wheel drive V-8 with towing package. Trail Manor and trailerboats.com tell me that I can tow up to 6700 lbs. with my vehicle. The only problem is pulling the boat just around my subdivision, the vehicle feels like it is under major stress. Any ideas on a good used truck? I can't really go new right now, but I am thinking a five/six year old truck might be a way to go.

For one trip to Tampa I would rent a Uhaul or Penske truck with a ball. Just make sure the ball is the correct size.

I agree with Paul for just one or two trips renting may be the way to go. Enterprise of Atlanta also has some nice tow vehicles avl. Think it was the Dodge Ram 250 or 350.

Thanks for the rental idea. I was thinking Armada Vans too. It might be a better idea to rent rather than go out and try to buy something. We are going to have to go bigger next year anyway,another vehicle. Thanks again for the advice.
