I own a 2007 36 DB and have had nothing but trouble with my E-Plex system. :smt021.
From day one it didn't communicate with the other modules that run the systems necessary to operate my boat, like my generator, the battery charger, various lights, etc. It has even caused my head to overflow because one module wouldn't allow the vacuum pump to operate-or even recognize that it wasn't operating. Most recently I lost all DC systems including access to my battery power!:smt100

Bad enough I've lost a lot of time out on the water, but now that it's over a year old, they want me to start paying for the repairs (in spite of the fact that I bought the Gold Warranty package).

Has anyone else had problems?...if it's systemic, which I believe it is, then I think SeaRay should come up with a recall on boats so-equipped and either fix them, provide a permanent solution or provide us with a new-working boat.

I recall seeing them switches and thinking they were cool. Never operated them though. I imagine (and as your experiencing) though that when they go out its gonna be a nightmare. Didn't they stop using those now? Good luck!

I have the system on my 36 and I have had no problems....I know when I bought my boat, there were some issues and Searay upgraded or changed out something.....Not sure what it was...I like the system, however KISS (keep it simple stupid).........Good luck.....If you have had a problem from day one and you have documented it, Searay should take care of....

I have had my boat for 18months and no major problems. I have had to reset the computer on two occasions. This is done from the panel in the galley and reprogramms all the modules. You should have the procedure takes about 5 minutes. If all else fails you can start all equipment by activating the manual switches on the modules. You need to familiarise yourself with the location of the modules and what each one does. All the AC stystems can be manually started from the panel behind the TV. There was a software upgrade in 2007 not sure when but make sure you have that upgrade. Good luck from down under

I saw a problem on a 07 360db that sounds like the same as what you are having. On this boat it turned out to be a problem with low voltage supply to the e-plex computer. It seems that the computer is way to sensitive to voltage swings (such as when starting engines or water pump cycling). I do not have any info on what the fix was that Sea Ray came up with but the boat is fine now.

We had a 2007 36DB and had many problems with the e-plex modules and the dealer replaced several modules, and also upgraded a couple things in the system. We were still having electrical issues when we traded the boat in at the end of the season and got the 2008 36DB with diesel engines instead of gas. THe 2008 also had the e-plex system but we have not had any problems last year or this year with the electrical panels or modules. I am guessing Sea Ray figured out the problems on the newer systems, but I also think the scratched the e-plex system on the 2009 models, and do not believe it is even an option, although that is only what I heard from someone,so not sure about that.

That too is my plan of action...trade up for a 2008 with diesels. If that doesn't work, who knows. You're right though, I just slipped beside a 2009 and the E-plex wasn't even an option.
Thanks for the reply.

Bluebelly, that's exactly what out mechanic (e-Plex guru) said. We seem to have more trouble when the pumps run or we switch from shore to generator and back (voltage swings). Thanks.

Fitzroy,
We figured out the reprogramming part and have re-booted the system twice. Sadly, the second time, things got worse instead of better. We're operational again, but hoping for the replacement module 109 to come in. I'll mention the voltage issue to our serviceman as that may be the ultimate cause.
Thanks.

Fwebster, there is a redundant panel but the issue isn't with the breakers but the actual modules, so while both the E-plex and the breaker can be showing 'on' the vacuum pump or whatever still isn't working. You can trip them on/off to no effect. Hopefully we're getting to the root cause of the problems.
Thanks for your reply.

I close on an '08 with the E-Plex system tomorrow. I heard that they fixed the problem, but looked at the website for the '09 model, and it's not listed in the "features". It is still shown in the pictures, however. I wonder if I will regret this in the future...
