Hi:
I just replaced the manifolds and risers on my 350 mercruiser. I torqued them at 30 ft/lbs by mistake. The service manual I have says 20 ft/lbs for the manifolds and didn't specify the risers

Should I:
A. Back them off and re-torque at 20, or
B. Not worry about it?

If I do back them off I'm afraid the gaskets won't re-seal propery but replacing gaskets is cheaper than wrecking my new manifolds.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jeff

I loosened mine off on one side to replace the fuel pump. Gas filter was in way. It did not seem to effect the gasket. I had used gasket goo material on gaskets that was elastic. Do not think it cracked. I origanly torqued them to correct value.
