We will be there also. We rent a cottage on the river just past the sand bar shop. Have been debating on whether to venture out with the boat for the fireworks. Have heard some horror stories about too much alcohol being consumed and boat collisions......
Might just watch from the cottage..... Have you been on the water for the fireworks? Have you had any issues?

If you have not seen the fireworks from the boat you should check it out(they are mostly ment for boaters)I personly have not heard of many issues in the past.Trick is to wait till the 100's of boats clear then poke back down the river.(you will miss alot of the low ones from were your at on the river) The chicken barbie is sat. also at the Alden Bar lawn 12 til 6 or till the chicks are gone. Quite a light show on the lake after the fireworks are done(something to see and won't ever fgorget)Have fun and be careful.... Rick

Where are you located on Torch? Are you going to be doing any boating there next week or the week after? If so I will keep an eye out for you, it would be great to be able to say hi in person.....
Thanks for the info on the fireworks, I am leaning more toward heading out there. Another question, is there enough room to drop anchor "by yourself", or do you pretty much have to raft up?

What ever one you want Ryan.Just make sure you have two good anchors.We moved the platform a little farther east than before,there should be plenty of room to anchor alone . I'm right here in torch river.I did the fireworks for 30 yrs. quit in 2006.(still keep track of whats happenen though)Will start the chicken barb. in Alden about 9am. sat. morn till close so won't do much boatin sat. but I will be out sometime though. What house ya rentin,is it on torch bridge ct. ?
