Too many boats ??

ditch everything and buy the 340(if its big enough)Then get a nice three person jet skYi for local use and a good way to get out when its windy and warm. You can pack a small cooler and a picnic in one .I used to take mine to one of the islands along the livingston channel with a pup tent ,have a fire and some cold chicken etc. and stay the night. You could take a bottle of wine also to help the mood .What ever you do have fun with it and dont sweat the small stuff.

I think you should consolidate. Sell the things you are holding on to just for the sake of having them and move on to what will truly make you happy.

If you take pride in owning and using a classic boat, then keep it. If the pride is in building it, then spend all weekend detailing it, take her for a spin, take more pictures than you think you should and sell it. Every time you start thinking that you shouldn't have sold, think about the things you really like about your new boat more than the old one.

I had a boat that I repaired or replaced nearly everything on. I kept it for too long and put too much time and money into it.

I also had a mustang that I bought new and modified quite a bit. I spent too much time and money on that car too.

I had two pristine toys that I had lost interest in. Maybe lost interest isn't the way to describe it. My lifestyle was changing and I wasn't able to enjoy them the way I had in the past, but I was extremely reluctant to let them go.

I picked out my new boat before I sold anything. Having a target eased the pain.

Within two months time my car and boat was sold and I was in the next boat.

Looking back now, I made the right choice. I don't regret it for a second. I've since sold that boat (280 Sunsport) and bought a 290 Sundancer.

Just because something brought you joy and pride in the past does not make it the proper choice for the future.

I do miss hearing the supercharger whine though...

This is your best advice.

If you don't use it then it just rots, looses value, and costs you money. Imagine how simple life would be with only one or maybe two boats and nothing else.

Very true in my opinion.

Ditto. Its hard to let our toys go but if they aren't used they deteriorate and cost us in the long run. Better to sell and let someone else get the enjoyment out of them.

I also agree that slipping is easier and more likely to get used. We can load the car after work on a whim on Friday and drive 3 hours to a boat already in the water and stay until Sunday afternoon. If we had to trailer the 260DA it would only be an ocassional well planned event.

Another option not discussed would be to get rid of the wife - I'd say that 99% of the members would love to have one that appreciated the collection and wanted more! But I met her at the Homecoming and can see why you'd want to keep her!
