So I bought my boat in February, been staring at it in the garage waiting all winter. Here it is mid May and we had a high of 46 today with a frost advisory. It figures, the year I buy a boat it takes forever to warm up. Ive only had it out twice so far and its killing me. I'm jealous of you guys in the warmer states!

supposed to drop to about 28 here overnight. possibility of snow flakes:smt119

Got to a whopping 94 degrees yesterday.

You should never stir the pot when it only has an old boot in it.

It froze here last night - all the boats that ran water hoses directly to their boat woke up to frozen and burst hoses with water spraying all over the docks and freezing Skip the boat shoes and wear ice skates!

I crossed the west end of Superior on Fri, running with stiff west winds 4-6', 122 miles in 4-3/4hrs, some snow along the way and colder then heck. I had a wool jacket on, my wind breaker over that, and wrapped in a sleeping bag. The next morning woke up to snow on the ground. Looks like fall doesn't it, no leaves, gray sky.

I was just out laying down my 2nd application of weed and feed for late spring early summer and it started snowing!!!

We should be so lucky! The photo below is this same weekend one year ago in Grand Marais, Michigan (these are snow piles covered with a little sand for all you southerners!). Ice was still on Lake Superior 100 yards past the pier. 2016 is practically a tropical paradise in comparison. That said...we had sleet at 37 degrees in Grand Haven this morning. So much for our "early, long, hot summer".

I launched Friday. Was a decent day but way too cold - 55 degrees and breezy. Poured rain all day Saturday and very windy and 45 degrees. Took advantage of a break in the rain to wash the decks. At least the Non-skid deck wash didn't dry out while I was scrubbing :smt089. Did a bit of organization and interior cleaning, but that was about it. Had to have the heat on in the boat. The marina had a Welcome Back Wine & Cheese in an outdoor awning tent. I don't think they planned for a bunch of shivering boaters "whining" about the weather!

Got back to our cottage and decided to light the woodstove to thaw my cold damp bones. Woke up this am to 37 degrees and sleet. Howling wind too. May has been a complete washout but I guess that is the same across the entire north east.

Next weekend is our May long weekend (Queen Victoria day in Ontario). Its the official start to summer season in South Central Canada. Hopefully the forecast of sunny, light wind, and 65 to 70 holds. It will seem like that is warm.

Weather has been really disappointing in South Jersey too.

BUT.......

I want you guys to know that despite any weather forecasts you may see to the contrary, starting TOMORROW you will enjoy sunny skis and warm temps all through the southern jersey area. I guarantee it!

WHY?

Because tomorrow the dealer where I bought my bought is coming to pick it up and take it to their service department to fix whatever is causing it to over-heat. I'm absolutely sure once my boat is in the shop and unavailable to me the weather will do an about-face and be perfect for boating!

But enjoy it while it lasts......the day I get the boat back, no matter if it's by this weekend or next, we will get the rainy cold weather back!

Thats usually how it works! When I bought a new snowblower we barely got any snow. I've found its the same with boats. Maybe I should buy a lawnmower so my grass quits growing. Lol.

Got snow here in northern NJ yesterday, wood stove is burning this morning, and it's COLD out!

In July the folks will be bitchin' about the heat.

May grey has been true to form here in so cal. Lots of wind since April, so water is also cold due to upwelling.
