Toilet deodorizer

Not sure of the best but I used the "Geo method" on my previous boat for 8 years with no smell problems what so ever and have used on my sea ray with good results as well.

You can google "geo method" but the jist of it is to put 2 cups of calgon powdered water softner and 1 cup of powerded laundry soap in a gallon jug of hot water and disolve the solution. I believe they add bleach but I dont!!

Then add to the holding tank and use it until its full then dump...and repeat.

Works for me!

I tries the toss in packets. Not potent enough. I use them to supplement my liquid for now until they are gone.

The west marine brand blue stuff wasn't especially impressive either. I can't remember what I have now but it's in a white plastic quart container. Camco maybe? Pretty good so far.

I use the West Marine bklue stuff and seems to work OK for us. If I may, is there a reason you are asking, is it stinking outside the boat? The reason I’m asking, if your filter has gotten wet or the holding tank has been overfilled, you may need to replace the vent filter. I just did this over the past weekend. I let the holding tank get too full about a month ago, and it finally started to stink. Changed it out and the problem is gone! Just FYI.

I get the big jugs of the orange citrus stuff at Wal-Mart in the camper/RV section.... Works great and smells like a fresh mimosa everytime we flush :)

I use Noflex Digester but it is not a deodorant. It breaks down the solids only. A fresh filter and Noflex usually works fine. A white vinegar treatment occasionally to keep the duckbills clean is great as well.

Where are you guys buying Noflex?

The only source I can find charges $19.50 shipping and handling for a $16 bottle of the stuff. I may just be hard headed, but I have a mental disconnect when the shipping/handling for a simple quart container of non-hazardous material costs more then the product being sold.

So I have some noflex but was never clear if it's an add-once-per-pumpout kind of treatment or something you keep adding more of daily/periodically. I typically only use it after a pumpout and when I'll be around for a long weekend so it can work solo for a while. But then I end up putting some other deodorant treatment in to maintain it until the next pumpout.

Toilet deodorizer? Why/where is it stinky? My head doesn't stink and the holding tank gives off no noticeable odors. I pump the tank at least once a week and once in a while let some laundry detergent slosh around in there. Maybe my sh!t doesn't stink:smt043

I was just saying the same thing. We've always threw 4 oz. in, after a pump out, but is it really necessary?

You are supposed to use 1/2 oz per person per day. Pour it right on the little doodies before you flush and it takes the trip with them!

Note: if you do that, it will also break it down if you happen to get a clog. Best place to purchase here: http://www.marinesan.com/Noflex_digestor_p/noflex.htm
