In my quest to get my 310 back up and running for next year I am about to move from mechanicals to cosmetics in prep for 2020 summer splash. Boat has been out for 4 years and spent most of today bleaching/pressure washing the forward deck and hull. Has cleaned up amazingly. But....it will definitely need a good compound and wax. I do all of my own work and am familiar with the process. My question to you fellow boaters-should I do it now and than just a wax next spring or just wait until spring for the whole shebang? I am torn on which way to go. My springs are usually very busy with work and have always seemed rushed to get everything done. Your thoughts/opinions would be appreciated.

I would run some cleaner wax on it now and do the full deep clean in the spring. What type of storage, in, out, cold, or heated, how clean is it?

Sounds like you are considering a compounding job now and waxing next spring. If you store indoors, that will work. If you are outside, some of the buff job will be lost to weathering, so wasted work. I would do the whole thing if you can store it in a clean dry place until launch. Otherwise, I would do it all at once in the springtime. You can always pay someone to do it before launch if you are too busy.

Boat is stored outdoors and has only had cockpit covers for the last 4 years. Decks had lichen and mold all over them, I embarrassed to say! I should have taken before and after pics. But I can say that it and all evidence is gone with some industrial bleach, a good pressure washer! I think I agree with SBW, all work(hours!)on compounding now will be lost over the winter outdoor storage. I think spring time it is....

That's always my go to... pay someone else to do it!
