I need a new wireless remote for my TNT lift mine took the big deep six and TNT said I would have to replace the hole deal at a cost of a $1000.00. This is the big tv looking remote. Has anyone found a cheaper way or a after market remote.

Thanks

I had some issues with my TNT remote as well and didn't want to spend the 1k on a replacement. My marina installed this Dalton unit. http://stores.daltonhydraulic.com/-strse-647/Wireless-Remote-2-dsh-Button/Detail.bok

It took me a while to find it, but they wired it in the engine room next to all of the other electrical components. It works great but the remote isn't waterproof like the TNT. I may have the longer range remote or something because while having a beer at a nearby bar my wife called me and told me that our lift was all the way down and still making noise and the kids fishing stuff was all underwater and she couldn't find the remote. I pulled the remote from my pocket and it stopped. I than brought it back up and of course told her I had no idea where the remote was.

Thanks for the help guys. I ordered the one PlayDate talked about, this morning. They said it should be here by the 12th and I should be able to have it working for the weekend. Life is good!

The remote looks like a normal key fob and probably is more water resistant than waterproof. I replace the battery once a year on the remote and reseal it with silicone. I haven't had a problem with it but then I haven't gone swimming with it either. It stays on the floating key ring for the dinghy engine and has 100' range.

The simple truth is I didn't want to drop $1,000 on the TNT unit. When I installed the TNT lift 5 years ago, I only installed the wired remote. I like TNT but their price is way out of line when you can buy the same operational control for $120. Near as I can tell the only difference between the $1000 unit and the $120 unit is the "waterproof" remote. Since this was a "nice to have" option, I went with the less expensive choice. I wired it on top of the wired remote wiring, so that I can use the wired remote as a backup.

If Dick (owner of TNT) follows this site......I'm in trouble!

The unit came yesterday I removed the old unit and wired in the new unit in the same location, hole job took less than 30 minutes and works great. The range on this unit is defiantly longer than the stock unit. I also took the remote apart and put silicone on it.
Thanks again for the help. I have plenty of other things to spend the $850.00 on that I saved with buying this unit.
