I have Loadstar K-500 bias ply tires on my Venture trailer.(China :smt013 ) I just noticed about a 12" cut from the sidewall up into the tread on one of them today. I've read that Loadmaster,Tow master & Maxxis are rated high.I'm looking for reviews/suggestions on tires.Radials v/s bias ply ?

I'd go Bias ply. They have stiffer sidewalls than radials and will prevent a lot of movement back there. As far as brands, insert cricket sounds..... I've heard that Marathons are being produced back in the U.S. and are supposed to be good again, but that's all just rumor! I haven't had to buy tires for two years and got some cheap, cheesy, knockoff brand 10 plys. I can't even remember what they are and it's dark and scary outside. I ain't goin' out there!

I got Turnpike radials and have had pretty good luck with them.

It was interesting to read about tires in here and then in the RV and airstream forums. Here is a good explanation that might come in handy when looking at tires, their reserve capacity, etc.

I don't know if they make Michelin XPS ribs small enough for my boat trailer but I hope they do. I'm looking to replace what is on there now. The XPS are our third set of tires on our RV and the best we've had so far. I don't care what brand I have as long as they do the job and keep the family safe. After 20k+ on the XPS I'd replace them with the same in a heartbeat if there were no online indications that the manufacturing process had changed or had gone downhill since the last purchase.

I bought two ST Duro tires today. One to replace the bad one on the front axle & one for a spare. I couldn't find many negative comments about Duro online. Of course the trailer didn't have a spare when I got it :smt009
