As I posted in another thread, during seatrials my new to me 268da was 'cackling' out of the port engine's carburetor at WOT. This afternoon after purchasing a new timing light I checked the timing on the engines. The engines are 1989 with thunderbolt ignitions.
Port...Right at TDC...no wonder she was popping
Starboard...4deg BTDC
I retimed them both to 8deg BTDC but am thinking at the altitude I'll be running her (3600-6200 feet) I should advance it to 10 or 12 degrees.. Any thoughts?
