I talked to Rob at New England Power Boat and he said he could put my boat in at any time. He said his docks were in and he had three boats in already. This would be a month or so early. :)

As soon as I get my new transducer in and the hull waxed I am going for it.

I should be ready to drop in a week. I want to be in when the stripers start coming up the river.

TurtleTone, (Mike), Is there still Ice on the Hudson?? Or how far up does it go? I know when the stripers were running below the haverstraw bay there was still ice up around Albany?

Yeah, Ice Out is done, and the water is lower than usual (not a lot of snow this year, and it warmed up rather gradually)

But, it's still pretty chilly! Major shrinkage at these temps!
THE LAKE CHAMPLAIN LAKE LEVEL AT THE KING STREET
FERRY DOCK IN BURLINGTON WAS 97.89 FEET...AND THE
WATER TEMPERATURE WAS 35 DEGREES.
I'm chomping at the bit as much as the next guy .... but brrrr.

I agree VT...
I'm not gonna splash till I can enjoy it...2-3 weeks seems right.
Plus in LG we seem to find all the crap the ice fisherman leave that floats early on.

No ice in haverstraw bay. Don't know where the ice is right now, but it's not where I am. It's almost time to go fishing.

Hey TT, I just noticed your sig. You getting a 450! That is sweet! You got any pics?

No boat yet, gotta sell mine first.

I love the 280. Wish I had a few more pennies...Could you slash your asking price in half???:smt001

I'm already in the water here in Connecticut! I went fishing last week in Branford and Lake Zoar!

Yeah, My Dad's been out... lots of flotsam at this time of year... remnants of things that didn't make it off the ice (cars /trucks /ice shanties) /logs /entire trees are all moving around this time of year. My father goes out in his alum. v-hull fishing boat... and we usually hear the flotsam bumping against the hull... we don't go real fast in it yet.

On Tuesday this week, my marina manager told me that they still were getting ice in the lagoons every night :wow: , which is why they were'nt turning on the water yet. That is truly incredible, I must say. She also told me that they first had to get rid of the Yeti that has taken up residence in all this ICE that is so typical during the frigid south-central NJ Aprils.

I live on the river between Champlain Locks 2 and 3 and there's no ice here. I don't remember seeing ice here for a while now. Last weekend I ran down to Albany and it looked clear south of L2 and onward. No idea how things look north of here

My marina opened today, unfortunately it looks like this until the end of the month when they drop the flood gates at L1 so I'm no rush to get down there...

They're droppin' boats in this weekend up in Haverstraw. I'm about 2 weeks away from going in. If I get a lot done tomorrow, maybe 1 week away.

I pulled her out of the garage this morning, and took off her winter cover and cockpit/bow covers!!! It never ceases to amaze me even with those covers on, I still find dust on the inside. Time to vacuum/wash/wax /start her up, and hopefully we'll get out on the lake this weekend, if the wind/waves stay quiet.
