My gas fill hose has this gooey looking crud on it, but it's not tacky or sticky. I was wondering if you've seen this on other hoses before or if you think it's time to replace the fill hose? This appears to be a low spot in the hose and I suspect that some gas tends to sit in this area after filling. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Could be ethanol eating away at the hose.

Not to borrow trouble but I would replace it and then check ALL the other lines also. It many be a good time to do a wholesale fuel line replacement. Might cost a little now, but it is safer in the long run.

Just my $ 0.02.

I had the opposite on my '79 260. The hose was dried with lots of external cracks. Although it wasn't leaking I had it replaced 2 years ago, then happened to sell the boat last year. I dont recall the cost because lots of other things were done @ the same time but I believe it was not very expensive. Better safe than sorry! Todd
