Ok, my 1975 SRV 240's tilt trim switch quit, I went to our local marine store and found a switch but I am having some trouble figuring out how to rewire it......the shop recommended a 3 wire switch and the boat had a 4 wire switch........I am dumb-founded!

I jumped across the solenoid and verified that the pump still works......up and down.

the wires are Red (hot)
green (works down)
blue (not a clue)
lt blue (not clue)

Does your handel have 2 buttons? 1 for trim and1 + 2 for trailer?
red is hot, green is down, blue is up, lt. blue trim limit switch ?

it is kinda odd (for me) the switch has 2 up buttons and 2 down buttons, I have never seen one like it.

I will try to upload a pic of it tomorrow when I get home. How do I hook up the four wires to a three pole switch? The new switch is a rocker type "normally off" switch.......

ok, I am a freakin idiot! I finally got my hands on a manual for the boat and found that the trim tilt switch will not raise the outdrive if reverse is engaged...........3 days of chasing wires, checking switch's, and replacing the solenoid on the pump......dang it, I should practice what I preach, READ THE MANUAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
