My 2 throttles don't match up when I accelerate. If I run using engine sync gauge and rpms, the port thottle is up more than the starboard. Full throttle on port gives me about 3100rpm, to match that on starboard, is only about half throttle. Is there some simple adjustment if I take the cover off the throttle? Sorry if I am vague, not too mechanically inclined.

Throttle cables are usually adjustable depending upon the manufacturer and the cable type used on your boat.

Once again folks, it is almost impossible to give complete and accurate answers unless you share the year, model, engine, and power transmission type with us.

I too share same with miss match. My dealer said it was in tolerance? We have a 05' 320 w/ 6.2's and not sure of make on the shifters. Appreciate any info you can share.

V drives, I took it apart today, just a small adjustment with a nut, I think lengthened the cable on port, seems to be even now. Well I'm learning.

Frank,

My 2004 320 350MAG, v-drives, 3-blade props, have similar issue. When I accelerate to cruising speed I just see on the tachs that I need to apply more throttle for the port engine to keep RPMs the same. At idle or lower RPM things look ok.

Thx,
Alex.

When both motors are at WOT, how close are the rpm's?

I work my throttles according to the synch gage. I also had this issue of having to advance one lever more than the other. The throttle cable attachments to the throttle blade on the throttle body (EFI) have threads with which you can fine tune the idle slack and therefore the synchronisation of the movement. WOT is not a good measurement because both throttle levers will be against the WOT throttle stop on the throttle body.

I had adjusted mine and if you remove the cover it is easy to see and figure out what to do. Also I increased the tension/friction for a little more "feel" especically in rough weather. PS most of the controls are made by Morse, at least mine are...good luck

I raised the WOT question because it may be an engine problem not a lever problem. That is, if one engine has a a problem like low compression, it will require more throttle to keep it at the same speed as the other. When you get to WOT, if the engine that required more throttle to maintain even rpm at cruise has a significantly lower rpm, then the problem is not likely to be a linkage issue.
