I have a 97 1/2 290 sundancer. Twin 4.3l, carbeurated I/O. I leave the slip and its 15 minutes unti lI'm out of the 6pmh/no wake zone. When I push the throttles forward to get on plain, the engine dies. My 'interim solution' is to slip the engine into neutral and pump it once to get 'past' the stall point, then once back at idle, back into gear, and off we go, no problem.
New fuel filters (clean and water free after removal) Plugs/caps/wires a year old, always run fuel additives in gas. Any experience with a problem like this? One fellow boater recommended replacing the fuel filters that are on the carb inlet where the fuel line attaches. I'll probably do that because I haven't done it yet and it is inexpensive. Any other suggestions? :smt100
