Thoughts on this 2003 260 Sundancer

Looks like a very clean boat, but she is a salty! Make sure the engines are thoroughly inspected. I also wonder if the manifolds/Risers were changed out as a cautionary measure or caused by a failure. Best of luck!

I would assume that the engine has been run in saltwater and the engine is not fresh water(closed cooling) cooled. This would make me very weary. It appears very clean though if the awful pictures tell any tale.

beacause boats weren't made to run in saltwater?........... More SW boats than FW boats. Just saying.

We just purchased an '06 260DA FW boat. One of the best things I did was to involve a very good surveyor. I would not make the purchase without the surveyor. We have had our for about 1 1/2 months and love it. Looks to be very similar only we have the gen. Because of the surveyor, we had a complete outdrive service done, cosmetic gelcoat repair on the bottom, and a few other things. My surveyor called in his mechanic to check out the motor very thoroughly-compression on motor and gen, etc. It was worth every penny. This is a SW boat and I would just keep that in mind. Good luck!

The boat appears nice except the bilge seems to have lots of rust and you can tell where water has leaked in the bilge. I would want to understand what is going on there.

Thank you all for the opinions. Because of the help, I am no longer going to further communicate with this boat! In the mean time, if anyone knows of a 240 or 260 for grabs and know the owner personally, please provide their info for me. We are looking for a 2000-2004 range with the dry weight of 6200.

i tried messaging you back. It appears your inbox is too full to accept new mail. Must be popular lol.

thanks for the links! We are headed to skipper buds in Grand Haven on Saturday to look at one. Without an arch though which my wife really wants, so we won't pursue it. More to see the room in a 260 vs a 240.
