What they don't say about it is that its only a mechanical filter. It won't remove metals, chemicals or other dissolved solids. Won't de salinate or remove odors. Looks like a gimmick, I would want a more thorough method of purification.

I've used an older version of this filter for years when back packing.
Never got sick from any of the water I've drank from it.
Have it on my boat now to filter the water from some of the wells or streams in the parks when I can't get water from a marine.
