Our garages seem to end up in a bunch of the photos we post. Mine, though small, old, crappy looking, is pretty cool. It's the original 1920s probably for a Model A car. It is solid, well built, original metal, 2 X 4s, 2 X 6s and had a dirt floor when I bout the house 13 years ago. I was planning to tear it down and build a larger, new one. ALL of the contractors who looked at it said keep it, they are no longer built this way, restore/remodel it; so I did.

I removed dirt/chunks of old concrete from what looked like bags of concrete, in prep for a new concrete floor, which was poured. I tore out the old barn like doors and had a garage door (manual at first) installed. I painted the exterior and put metal paint on the roof. Then I had an electrician run wire from the house to the garage, and put 2 receptacles in, one for the garage door, and one overhead light. Foam pool noodles were tacked onto the studs to keep the car doors from hitting them. Oh, and then I had a custom 8 x 10 shed built for all the stuff that was in there.

That was about 6 years ago. I paid an electrician this weekend to add another receptacle and a LED overhead light. It's small yes, but she fits in there :) Note, that is NOT what she said...

She also ain't winning no beauty pageants, but she is reliable and ain't going nowhere :)

I live in Maryland. What is this thing called garage that you speak of?

You always make Maryland sound like it is behind the times and not a place you would want to live. I live in MD, on the eastern shore, and it is a wonderful place and we even have garages. :D

My Vet is sitting outside covered right now. When they built my house they took 6' out of the garage to make room for a laundry room and pantry. Now my garage is only 18' deep instead of the standard 24'. So I turned it into a double wide shop. Getting quotes now to build a proper two car garage next to this one. ...

This is a great thread, I am about to have my two car garage spray foam insulated and add a mini split for heat/air. I have been scanning tons of garage makeover youtube channels and have some pretty good ideas, cant wait to share when its all done. For now, it gets the job done.

If you haven't gone down this rabbit hole yet, check out Obsessed Garage on youtube.

I am jealous of much that I see but...

Upon acquiring the Bose stuff, My Kenwood receiver , Snell Acoustics speakers and BSR sub were relegated to the garage.
I have a better sounding stereo in my garage than I do my house and should the need ever arise, I can blow my neighbors out of their pool with great clarity.

Only a 2 car (it’s deep) but It gets jam packed in the winter. Dirt Bikes, dinghy, ATV’s, etc. there is a lot more room to move around in the summer when the toys come out….

I'll just say this. Very typical 3 car garage that is absolutely TRASHED with clutter. Been cleaning it out since the day we moved in over two years ago. Ironically there is always barely enough room for whatever fun car I have at the moment. Garage goals....

Dad and his wife live in Towson Maryland, full basement and two car garage.

@JayhawkCurtis I think it's the tribute to Detroit's Woodward Avenue. I remember getting info on this way back, I have Hagerty ins for some years and they did this: https://www.hagerty.com/media/events/woodward-dream-cruise-2009/

Yes, it’s the Woodward Dream Cruise. Woodward Ave starts in downtown Detroit and goes north/northwest all the way out to Pontiac, MI. It’s the 1st weekend in August, I think. I always wanted to trailer my 1969 Camaro RS/SS out there, but haven’t yet.

What are the Woodward signs about? The nearest descent sized town to us is named Woodward, of course that is in Oklahoma.
Others have answered it here's this year's website.

The week leading up to it is the easiest to get around. Day of... 15 mile long gridlock along Woodward Ave. A quarter million show up.
