:smt024 I know there will probably be a gaggle of hoorah's and comments here, but has anyone ever used these two services?

I have signed up for both, looking for someone in the Jacksonville area. So maybe a few of you know someone, send me a PM with contact info.

I prefer taller women 5' 7" to 6' 2" slender and endowed, preferably with no kids. 55 to early 60's is okay. I am looking to retire in about six years and I am looking for a boating and traveling partner, and no I am not rich. I do not do church nor do I drink. So you figure out how to meet someone?

Okay I can hardly wait for the jokers to begin...I hear their whirring sounds and smell the smoke emitting from unused gray matter.:smt021

Thanks

1 800 call for a good time......

Sorry you asked for it. (Grin)

Come to think about it, it may even be cheaper in the long run.

Okay no body else can give him a hard time.

Hey I’m not afraid to say I used Match. Several years after my divorce I signed up and used the service, and I had one hell of a lot of fun. Had lots of dates, some turned out to be more, and others turned out… well let’s just say I felt like a teenager again. Then one day I went on a date from Match, and the date is now my lovely wife. Go for it!

If you don't drink, what are you doing in the Tiki Bar?

My best man at my wedding went on match.com after two failed marriages/engagements. About five years ago, he met his soul mate at the age of ~42, now has a 2 1/2 year old son, and as I type, is building their dream home on 5 acres of land down in N.C. after relocating from L.I. NY.

But, I'm sure there are just as many failed stories as there are success stories.....I can definitely see where using these services are better for meeting like minded mates then, at our ages, trolling in bars.

I find just docking my boat at the local waterfornt bar on Thursday nights works better than either of the internet sites. Of course, my wife doesn't condone such activity......

LOL..:smt043:smt043 Now that is Funny!! :smt038

I think each date should be subject to a question and answer session here, she must also submit 3 photos of herself. Then we'll have a vote on which one we like.

Good friend of mine met his wife on E-Harmony. So it can happen! Good luck.

As a side note, be carefull & check the commom wife laws in your state. There was a horor story on the web a year or so ago. The guy allowed the chick to stay in & "house sit" for a week and a half while he was away on business...........Not Good. 6 months later his net worth dropped by 50%.

I've used Match and would recommend it. It's how I met my ex-gf (we were together for 4.5 yrs until recently), and I have to say, it worked for the most part. This woman, (after going on a dozen or 2 dates with other women) is(was?) very compatible with me(way more so than my ex-wife ever thought of being - but that's another story). And Match allowed me to pick /choose and get to know her some before we started dating via email. And finally, meeting for coffee somewhere is really the best way to finally figure out if this person is of interest to you. Match is just a pre-cursor. I met a few women (1 in particular) on first dates where I couldn't wait to pay the tab and get out of the date! Sometimes their profile pic's are way outdated and how they describe themselves are a long ways from reality and how the rest of the world sees them.

It's funny, where I live is a fairly small community, yet I'd never run into my ex-gf before. In fact, she and I knew a dozen or 2 of the same people! (My middle son was best friends with the son of one of her good girlfriends and was always spending time over there - I probably dropped him off/picked him up, and she was at parties they were having - course wee were both married at the time) I don't do bars, and in fact, I'd be wary of anything at my age that I found there. There are a fair number of women on match in my area, but I'm not ready yet to get back into anything yet. I'll probably get back on it again in a while.

come on, no way could that happen. She probably had triplets and they turned out to be his.

A little over 5 years ago I was signed up for Match and I met my wife there.... After 4+ years of living together I made her my wife this past October. Match does work, but there are ways to do things to protect your time & money.... The first thing is email, then phone, the "coffee date" and see where it goes from there......

Best of luck, Mark

I proposed to my wife that we fill out the e-harmony profiles to see if we were compatible... she got pissed... go figure....

I can understand her uneasiness.....I mean just imagine her stress level if she found out that she acutally IS compatible with you......

Funny thing there is that my wife wanted to do that with us! My fear is I would find the perfect woman for me....

When you think of it, 'online dating' has a ton of advantages. The major thing being that one can sit in the comforts of home, and at their convenience browse and weed out a ton of people in just a short amount of time.

My friend has used match, and although he's not found 'the one', he's met a lot of good friends nonetheless.

when you say indowed, do you mean how big is her boat?

I know several people who have used those types of services and have married the person whom they met.

If all else fails, start using "adultfriendfinder.com" - you probably won't find a wife there, but you will certaintly find some campanionship
