Well, i went into work this morning not knowing if i would have a job by 12 noon!!! GM was to let dealers know by Fed Ex letter if they were to be shut down. Fed Ex came and left and no letter, then we get a call from Detroit saying we made the cut, we stay open!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So now i can rest easy, and enjoy my summer on my boat with my family and not be worried sick, like i have been for the last 2 months!!!
Robert.

Good Luck, with the next round

The next round is all the Pontiac,Sabb,Hummer, and Saturn stores that they are closing or selling. So i'm safe there also... Robert.

Congrats Rob - I'm glad to hear it.

This whole "dealership collapse" thing has caught me off guard. I guess I understand the dealer structure much less than I thought.

I hope they're making wise decisions. It sounds cruel, but there's a dealership around here that I'd like to see go. I interrupted a salesguy from reading a book a few months ago. I asked for information, they had none. I asked for a CTS brochure, he handed me one for a DTS. He had no answers, no skills. The showroom was dirty and disorganized. Good people are suffering, but if there's a bright side, maybe some housecleaning now and then can help.

I come from a Chevy,Buick, and Cadillac store that was given a total refit inside and out, we sell over 150 autos a month. If any members need any thing, from true cost, to info on anything we sell please let me know. C.S.I. is very important to me, and we have one goal, to make the customer "HAPPY" Robert.

Robert, our family is doing their part by purchasing six new GM vehicles this year, 1. G6 2. Traverse 3. Malibu 4.Acadis 5. Tahoe 6. yet to be named in October.

Not to rain on your parade, but if you are involved with either the sale or repair of GM products, you're not out of the woods yet. Know one knows how the American public will react win GM files for their inevitable bankruptcy this summer.

Groucho,

Hopefully your store made the cut to and you stay open, Ford,Chevy, and Chrysler all make great cars that americans should be proud to drive, we all have to keep are heads up, and work are way through this.... Robert

Didn't sound like he was having a parade.. just happy to be able to keep putting food on the table..but I get your point and I agree that a bankruptcy filing would seem inevitable.

I know two individuals with GM pensions. <<gulp>>
One was union. . .the other managment.

That's great news Rob!! My whole family has been a GM family for over 50 years..(with a Mercedes, BMW & F-150 thrown in every now and then:thumbsup:).

Question: Are we still going to see the new rear wheel drive Impala? I have been waiting on that car for years.

You have a great line of cars to sell. When the media in this country decides to report news with out bias and gets out of the "Chicken Licken...the Sky is Falling" mind set, people will return to the dealers and begin to purchase new cars again.

Rob, it can be very good. Years ago I used to sell cars for Potamkin Chevrolet in Miami and we would sometimes sell 150 cars a week!! We had great products that people wanted to buy: Impalas, Monte Carlos, Chevelles, Camaros and Corvettes. I had some very good years and you will too. It will come back.

You get that rear wheel drive Impala and you will sell them...I also like the new Camaro. Good Luck.

And for Pontiac....we had some great cars but this is what always comes to mind when I hear the name Pontiac.

GM is going to file BK, it's just a matter of time, but in order to be stronger they have to weed out the bad and under performing stores. My family has owned this store for many many years. We own evey car on the lot, we floor plan nothing with GM, or any bank, and we own all or parts. We try to treat our customers and employees like gold!!! We have 60 people who work here, who would of been losing there job also. GM is still going to make cars, and is still going to need a dealer to sell the cars. C.S.I. is one major reason we made it, also the amount of cars we sell a month, and profit margin all came into play.GM will bounce bank and become stronger...... Robert

congrats!

There is a commericial running for a local Chrysler store that says "We've been serving you for 8 decades and looking forward to serving you in the future!" The we one of the store closed!

Question: Are we still going to see the new rear wheel drive Impala? I have been waiting on that car for years.

Yes you will see the impala w/ rear wheel the car is in testing now, we have seen it, there just waiting for the market to turn around.... Robert.

Well. . .rear wheel drive cars are not that good for the NorthEast.

Unless it is a summer-only car. . . I won't be even looking at rear wheel drive cars.
