Guys... I feel stupid... i took a pic of my thermostat housing to show everyone. I removed the housing/hoses to winterize my boat. I was expecting a typical thermostat in there.... but don't see one. It kinda looks like one w/ the spring and all but have no idea how you would remove that if you wanted to replace it. Am I going nuts or something? :smt101 Thanks!

A little closer...

That's it. There is a plastic sleeve holding it down. be careful pulling it up, you may want to use needle nose pliers once you get it started to pull it up the rest of the way. WD 40 helps loosen the crud. Good luck

Thanks a lot!! It's not 100% obvious where this plastic sleeve is. Is it connected to that piece that covers the spring?

thanks again.

The plastic collar is what holds the thermostat in place. If you look closely you'll see a ridge around the opening - that ridge is the collar. If yours is like mine it will break into about 5 pieces and force you to order one.... I ordered 3 so I have one as a backup piece now.

DUH! OK i see it now! Thank you!!!!!!!!! I plan on replacing them in the spring. Might as well order a couple replacements just in case as well. Thanks for the heads up!!!!

Did you ever hookup the sub and amp? How does it sound?
the plastic piece is tough to see if you have not done one before. pull it up a little at a time and it should come out ok. one side then the other

haha...ya know i just recent saw/responded to your PM. For whatever reason i was never notified from CSR when you sent it. Sorry about that. I actually didn't do the project this summer. Got too caught up with boating  It is on my list as a winter prj. I'll definitely let you know!!!

Thx for the tip btw.
