At the end of the season I was not heating up - Getting to about 135 deg or so, Figured the t-stat had some debris in it. Here is what I found while doing my winterizing- Looks like the cork gasket was missing a piece and distorted, Would this cause the issue? There was a few grains of sand in the t-stat but even after cleaning it out it is not "sealed" completely, I can still see light through it.
Also, I am going to replace it but there was a 160 t-stat in there, Seems a little cold but maybe not - What is stock on a 97 5.7 EFI?
Anyone have an exploded view of all of this stuff? I had one for my 86 5.7 but it was completely different.
