350mag B3,
Whoever coined that term was a dumba*s or just didn't get it. The first half is completely true but the second half, not so much. I am typing this with watery eyes...

So, two weekends ago we went out for what turned out to be our last cruise on the 340. I couldn't have asked for a better day, 65 degrees, not a lick of winds and a flat ocean. We left out of Joyner Marina excited about a decent winter cruise but sad knowing it was likely the last.

Headed through Snows Cut on the ICWW and turned ocean bound on the Cape Fear.

Hit Southport and ran over to Bald Head Island, Old Baldy Lighthouse

As we left the inlet, my daughter asked if we'd see dolphins. I didn't think so but we did once we hit the bluewater.

After viewing the Bald Head Island waterfront one last time, we headed back in for the return trip

Going back upriver, I opened her up to 4500 rpms and 39mph SOG, I knew then there would be little issues at the survey the following day.

So, farewell "Under Contract" because as of today, you are no longer our pride and joy, but someone else's. We will miss you much and hope you give your new owner as much trouble free joy as you did for us.

I remember when you got your 260DA and how thrilled you were about that and then ecstatic when you got the 340DA.

I hope circumstances improve for you in the next few years and you can get back into boating.

Dave

Sounds like a great trip, hope deal goes through. You are not alone, I know what you are going through. These are interesting times we a living in.(Grin)

I couldn't let go of our old boat! We kept it for 6 months so that we were sure the new boat was good and because I couldn't let go!! The new owner loves the old 250 DA and I still miss it!

Times are interesting for sure. I have seen a huge increase in sales traffic in the last few months but I'm still cautiously optimistic on the housing market. I can't decide on what to put on the ground because I'm not sure if all the traffic is tax credit/low interest rate related. Jan/Feb sales were horrible and I can't help but think its because buyers have a mind set that they have time now since the tax credit has been extended. I'll decide where my career is going around about Sept.

I do feel fortunate though in that we were able to sell so quickly, the first looker was the buyer. We are also excited about the search for our next boat though, which we have already started. We're thinking a 280/300 on a trailer is next for us so we can make the trips that are otherwise too costly with the 340. S. Florida, Canada, LOTO, Powell etc...

I must say that this post hits home, a decision that I have been fighting but need to do the same. My thoughts and prayers are with you to return to boating. I am sure that there are a lot of people in your shoes, I know I am one of them.

Here is a good offer. Anytime you want to come to N central FL you can stay the weekend or what ever on my boat!!

Wow, I am seeing this more and more each month. It is with deep sorrow that we have had to join this group. Lack of work for the past 6 months and no prospects for the near future has forced us to give up our 2008 310 Dancer late last month. We will miss our time on the boat.

Newbie.
I love it when I buy'em and hate it when I sell'em
So yes I feel for you.
Having a trailer is a plus with any boat though
we trailered mine all the way from Deale Maryland Back to our home in Utah.
So I guess I can safely say I know that it is trailerable to take her anywhere we want to go.

I know this feeling.

I have a family sailboat . .that I really should have gotten rid of 5 years ago.

Will be doing bottom maintenance early next month. There is only one thing worse than prepping a boat for the season. . .and that's prepping TWO boats :)

I have no plans whatsoever to get rid of the blowboat.

As "Slick Willy" used to say..."I feel your pain...".

I still stay in contact with the man that bought mine. He is with Lockeed Martin and is associated with the Space Shuttle. He sent me an e-mail last week and said that they are getting lay off notices already due to Obama pulling the plug on the program.

I am lucky enough to have a brother with a boat and we were just out on his this past Sunday...nice day.

I look at it this way...hopefully this economic nightmare is a blip on the radar that will be over soon...but I'm not holding my breath.

Looks like "wealth re-distribution" is in full swing.

We have Senate and Congressional elections this year and Presidential in 2 more years. I am praying that we get some real thinkers into office quickly and concentrate on getting this country back to work.

My business is virtually shut down and I am working for Sears Home Improvement selling on straight commission.

Anybody need a Kitchen re-model or a HVAC upgrade/changeout?
