it is a good feeling to have the boat tucked away in a warm, clean building.
What is this thing you call “Fall”, never heard of it.
I didn't know it got that cold in NW Washington. Thought the ocean moderated the temps and you were mostly in the 40s with rain instead of snow. Obviously, I am mistaken. What's this "inside storage" thing? Here's my baby in the winter...
and my deck hand helping with putting in the deicer pump.
Yup, it's getting closer. Must be time to head to AZ!
Inside heated storage was introduced here about 35 years ago as a premium service. It proved to be so popular that almost all inside storage is now heated in this market. The biggest advantage is keeping your boat clean as there is no need to perform winterizations that do take a toll when they are performed by some marina staff. You have no unknown people crawling into and out of your boat with greasy shoes and work clothes. We switched marinas many years ago because the folks doing the fall work could not seem to learn to wash their hands when working on a clean boat nor to not lay greasy tools on white seats. That feeling I have right now is envy. Indoor storage is as rare as hens teeth around here.
We enjoy putting our boat away in the fall. It is part of the seasonal rhythms. The gales of November will be here in two months and it is a good feeling to have the boat tucked away in a warm, clean building.
It doesn't get that cold in NW Washington but we're way across the state tucked down in the SE corner. If you look on Google Maps for Kennewick, WA you'll find us. That's where the boat is moored and we live in Pasco, across the river and upstream a few miles.I didn't know it got that cold in NW Washington. Thought the ocean moderated the temps and you were mostly in the 40s with rain instead of snow. Obviously, I am mistaken.
Yuck. Someone please say something horribly offensive so we can get this thread locked.
