The Rain - oh the rain

Woke to hard downpours this morning. AGAIN!

We took the opportunity to drive up to Tarpon Springs and scouted our weekend destination, as well as check in with the yard that is going to pull the boat Monday Morning

By the time we had lunch, the rain had stopped and it was sunny by about 3.

We got a nice run in up to 3 Rookers, but again no smooth anchorages with the south wind, so motored home for cocktail hour.

Supposed to be calm and nice tomorrow into the weekend!

We took a few days off from the rain to drive to CLT to visit my 94 year old Mom/sister and middle daughter. Rained like crazy in NC as well! We drove by the Ocoee and Nantahala Rivers on the way - they were flowing at 30mph - too fast for the white water kayakers - and too muddy!! Looks like Lake Wylie is muddy also.

Same in Atl. We have gone from being 5+ feet below full pool in February to 2.5 feet above full pool this morning....We could use a break from the rain for a while.

Bennett
Chickamauga is slightly above full pool. Glad Lanier recovered.

Was at the boat for a few days. Finally got it in the water into a slip. Weather turned nasty Thursday night, 35-40 degree drop in temperature in a couple hours. Talked to some boaters that had been out and about, they say they saw ice floating out on the lake.

I was about to complain about the lousy weekend weather here, but after reading your post with floating ice in June I don’t feel so bad.
