Boy I hate to see this.

About a month ago there were reports of Rinker buying the Crownline assets. That fell through.

Then the former owner tried to put a deal together but that also failed.

Now its auction time.

If I was closer I’d go and bid for some tooling and parts for mercury sterndrives.

Sad day for Crownine and I don’t think they will be the last boat brand to meet this fate.

I had a 225 Crownline CCR as my first boat. What a great boat! I really hate to see this happen. Honestly though i prefer to see this that Stinker buy them and completely tarnish the name.

Somehow I doubt that would have happened. More like they would have leveraged technologies from both companies and in the end Rinker would have a better product.

Not a for sure thing that the brand will disappear, despite the liquidation. VIP did the same thing a year ago, are now open again, and thriving. We need to wait and see how this falls out, there are several possibilities besides "the end".

That is sad. When we bought our boat our decision was between a Crownline or Searay.
I hope the unexpected occurs for them.

Sad, CL has good looking products and Rinkers are Stinkers

I live in close proximity to Chicago, what do you all say we pool together and buy up all the molds and tooling. We could design and build our own boats!!!!

I can see it now...."Check out the new CSR 330 Express, fully loaded with all the comforts of home and then some. Notable options include: Muilti-colored anchor rode, Honda i3000 generator, and submersible shore power cords. Enjoy a year's free membership to CSR if you buy now, before the end of the week. Prices TBD" public service announcement: no wingless ducks were harmed in the making of this advertisement.

So your boats wouldn't require "many cool mods"?

I called the auctioneer to get an itemized list of tooling.

Per the auctioneer the auction is not a piece by piece type auction, it’s all or none.

If this auction is not successful then a item by item auction may follow.

All the "cool mods" would could be included! Maybe there could be a special "banned" edition!

Let's not forget that the dual 8' whip antennas will be defaulted to the 45 degree angle as standard equipment! (non adjustable):smt038

The symbol for our boat: I vote for the wingless duck!

His picture has been pulled from CSR????

Hey....There you go showing off the secret compartment!!!!! Well I guess it's not secret anymore...

RIP Crownline. You made a good product.

Our boats. I think we would have to collectively get together and have secret discussions in the middle of the night, and then conduct poll after poll to find out what the citizens think before we conduct our public town hall meetings. Then we can decide what kind of many cool mods we want to incorporate into our boats.

Added after jpk33: I like where you are heading with this - good idea!

I think the federal Boat Czar will approve of this approach! :smt101

The CSR 330 Express would surely be stern heavy due to the massive sized diesel propulsion.

This one should do....twins optional.

Everything you ever needed to know about CSR is in this thread

My neighbors bought a crownline under my recommendation to them when he called from the dealership and said they had a nice 190 (something like that) for sale at a good price. Now I feel like a schmuck.

Hopefully the product will be supported somehow

As far as designing our own boats, each would need some kind of medical kit built in somehow, including a stitch and staple center and light surgery room.
