This is a sad deal. Hard to put yourself in peoples shoes that are driven to these decisions....

I'm going out on a limb to say that the boat was over capacity.

There must have been some horrible moments there. No doubt there were families on board. Crushing to think about being in that with your loved ones.

29 foot and unfortunately this is happening all the time now. Mostly Haitians but believe it or not a lot of Chinese laborers also that built resorts in the Bahamas . So sad.

For those of us that routine that strait of water, now is not the time to cross even with a 70 footer. Heck Cruise liners get beat up crossing this time of the year. It's a sad epitaph to seek a better life at such a cost....
