Thanks to Jason's way of sealing teak wood, I have to say I am very impressed. I did most of this just before the boat was launched and it was still "green" as Jason stated. But with having the dog on the boat, he has not even scuffed up the finish with his claws. The boarding treads where we all get on and off the boat does not even show any wear. So Jason, here are the pictures I have promised.

I have not finished, but I got enough on for this summer use. Once the boat is out of the water, I am going give it a sanding to smooth it out and add the last couple of coats. Jason's trick works great and lasts.

Ok, I purposely bought a boat with no wood on the outside, but for future reference Jason, what's your secret? That looks great and I'd like to know for my future reference.

Thanks,

GFC

Jason has a full post on it some where. But start with sanding, then 50/50 tung oil and paint thinner until is starts building up. the a coat of 75/25, then 100%. Tung oil and teak oil will bind. After that start with varnish at 50/50 and follow the same process. I am not finished yet because I want to enjoy the boat this summer. I had only put a couple of coats of vanish so far. I want to sand it until smooth, then put the final couple of coats of varnish. One a month, just through some boat wax over the top. Boy does this stand up to the dog and his nails. Not one scratch yet.
