In general what do people think is the cheaper?

I am having difficulty getting the local canvas guy to come out and give me a quote plus he wants the boat at his shop to do the work. As he is nowhere near the lack I will need to haul the boat, truck it to his shop, wait for him to finish then truck and launch.

If the fastback is cost competitive and a good option then I would go that route.

Are there any places that make a camper canvas for the 2000 310 other than Taylormade?

Thanks!

your local canvas guy sounds like bonehead.

I don't disagree but I have a choice of him, the guy that says he'll show up and doesn't or the guy that says he'll do the work, takes your stuff and goes on vacation for a few months.

I juste asked Taylormade to quote me on a fastback camper canvas and they advised they only make them for soft tops. I was surprised as I have the standard top. Not sure what to do next.

I looked at the Fastback and the Camper top...both were about the same $$. I didn't want to truck my boat to the canvas shop and I kinda prefer the look of the Fastback, also I understand it takes less space to store than the full camper top.

I went with the Fastback for my 320 Dancer, should be here next week. I bought mine locally (from the guys that invented the Fastback and sold it to Taylormade) for the same price I found them online. Stay tuned I'll let you know how I like it

I contacted Taylor Made earlier in the year and they quoted me $2,300 "Boat Show Price" or $2,700 regular price for my '00 340da. The canvas guy quoted me $3,000-3,500 to make a custom setup. WM lists the Fastback in their catalogue at over $3,000.

Good luck!

I've traded up from my 340 DA last year and have no use for the FastBack cover. The cover is black and fits the 2004 and 05 340 Sundancer. Purchased two summers ago for approx $2,400, I used it only 4-5 times and it is like new. I have all the hardware necessary for installation. Asking $1,200.

We went the route of a Fastback when we bought our boat 2 years ago. The factory charged us 2200.00. We liked the style on our 320 and found it workes well on those cool days late in September when the mercury drops. We spent another 85.00 having the snaps professionaly done. Well worth it. Another good thing is it sores in a bag about 12" in diameter x 48" long leaving almost no trace of it ever being on. One nice thing about having a local shop do a cutom one is screen, window & door design of your choice.
Just my 2 cents.

I have a fastbck for a 04-05 320 Sundancer that is tan in color. Will sell with all the hardware for $1100.00. Used only 1 season, moved up to a 06 340 SDA.

I got real lucky on e-Bay 2 seasons ago.......it was the fastback for my 370DA.....the right teal tweed color sunbrella ( rare ) and in like new condition ............for $580.00 plus shipping.

We love it !!!

I like the Fastback on my 330. Have used it for 7 seasons and it is holding up really well. Personally I didn't like having all the extra stainless poles and backets on the back of the boat when everything is wrapped up. Additionally, I can put the top up single-handedly in less than 5 minutes. Really easy and effective.

There was a poster last year in Florida who wanted more shade all the time and so decided to go the custom route. Do a search on "Fastback" and see if you can find that post.

Good Luck!
