For those of you interested in one of these as I am, there's a glimmer of hope. Taylormade was manufacturing these under another persons patent. They decided not to renew the agreement. The gentleman who owns the patent has a couple canvas shops with some mild interest. Since nobody has committed yet, he's taking names of interested boat owners in an attempt to sweeten the deal for any potential vendors. If you've been hoping the would start making these again, be sure to call Al and put your name in as a possible customer. Obviously this isn't a thread comparing camper and fastback designs. We have all read the I love/I hate them posts. This is only an attempt to provoke a shop to pick up the business for those of us who may be interested. Below is the contact info. Hope this helps.

I loved by fast back on my 30 and 34. Gentry Atkers was the guy who came up with the design. Once they got the pole issues under control it was home run .

I feel the same way. Really like the design. Was on a Monterey a couple years ago that had one. The spaciousness and ability to remove it quickly, really got me to think twice about getting one. Just after blowing the budget with new electronics, I get on the boat, throw the aft curtain to the side and I hear the dreaded crack. The plastic in the aft curtain split right down the middle. That total bummer is then compounded by being forced to buy a replacement I don't really want. Hopefully some of the people viewing this thread will call Al and give him some marketing leverage. Did I mention he seems very nice! Lol
